Laura Furci was born in Pordenone on the 16 March 1979 and started studying at 9 years old, taking piano classes in blues and classical music.
At eleven years old she was admitted to the Conservatory "J.Tomadini" in Udine (Friuli Venice Giulia), where she passed all of her exams under the direction of her teacher Maria Felicita Russo Pérez. She was also chosen every year to represent the Conservatory in concerts displaying the talents of only the best students.
Soon after, she demonstrated her remarkable artistic temperament in 1995 by winning the first prize of the national competition " Festival Musicale Citta del Barocco " in the city of Lecce, with a punctuation of 99/100.
She was then admitted to Giuliana Gulli’s piano classes at the Conservatory "G. Tartini" of Trieste, where she was given their Diploma of excellence in 2001.
Her music education was perfected by ulterior studies with the Teachers Giorgio Lovato (Venice), N. Gardi (Trieste), and N. Carusi in the academy of Abruzzo. She participated in numerous musical productions and she had several recitals as a soloist, in the castle of Miramare (Trieste), in the theatre of the castle of Udine, in the auditoriums of the University of Trieste, and in Villa Manin of Passariano, where she played with the jazz musician Glauco Venier.
She has always been interested in chamber music and has performed duets with saxophone, viola, and violin. She was admitted to attend the lessons of chamber music held at the Academy "Walter Stauffer" of Cremona by Salvatore Accardo, who valued her chamber music ability very positively. At this Academy she had the opportunity of playing with very gifted young musicians who were attending international postgraduate studies designed to form performers of chamber and soloist music.
In October 2005 Laura graduated from the University of Trieste with an honors degree in International Political Sciences. She won a scholarship to study for one year in the Complutense University in Madrid, where she perfected her command of the Spanish language.
Laura speaks Italian, Spanish and English and therefore can provide classes in the student’s preferred language.
She has passionately devoted herself to music and piano teaching: she teaches piano, spoken and sung sol-fa to young people of all levels of preparation, and gives special lessons whose aim is to awaken the interest of children in music. She also teaches pupils who want to enter the Conservatory, both Middle and Higher Level.
Laura also has a car and drivers licence which allows her to travel and provide lessons in a student’s own home where required.
